Why not learn the right way?
The knowledge of the ATV vehicle and its capacities, and a certain familiarity with the trails used, will insure that your outings are safe and pleasant. One has to bear in mind that ATVs are made for off road use only and are not conceived for paved or public roads.
An ATV driving course lasting between 5 1/2 and 7 hours is offered by certified CSC (Canadian Security Council) instructors. The training program, based on techniques developed on the trails, allows drivers to learn the handling of an all terrain vehicle in a fun and secure fashion. Drivers will experiment different controls, will learn how to read the terrain, how to negotiate turns in safety and how to climb or descend slopes efficiently.
A separate driving course is also being offered to youths below the age of 14 who have written permission from their parents. An educational booklet by the CSC has been produced for parents whose children are permitted to follow the training.
Driving techniques should be practiced in an opened area, off the road and away from obstacles and other drivers.
